meredith william bryantWilliam Bryant “Billy” Meredith, 82, of Doe Creek Road, Pembroke, departed this life Monday evening, January 13, 2014 at his home. Born on April 28, 1931 at Spruce Run, Newport, he was a son of the late Phillip M. and Ellie Mae Caldwell Meredith and step-son of the late Frances Merrix Meredith. He was retired from the RAAP at Radford and worked at Pearisburg Wal-Mart in his retirement. Billy was a member of the New River Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pembroke. He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife Nancy Velma Martin Meredith, his son Kenny Meredith, brothers and sisters.. He leaves to cherish his memory his sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Anna Meredith of Pembroke, Glenn and Pam Meredith of Pembroke, Timmy and Kathy Meredith of Pembroke, Sean Meredith of Pembroke; his daughter and son-in-law Catina and Kenny Mabes of Salem; his grandchildren Chase and Jennifer Meredith, Larry Meredith, Chris and Laurie Meredith, Todd Meredith and Amy Fletcher, Lauren Barrett, Katee and Jeff Wickline, Amanda and Michael Lucas, Kevin Meredith, Kelsey Mabes, Baylor Mabes, Santana Meredith, Tyler Meredith; his great-grandchildren Andrew Meredith, Gavin Fletcher, Meredith Lucas, Andrianna, Dominick, and Jacob Robillard, Rainer Meredith, Mackenzie Meredith C J Meredith, Caleb Sowers, Braden Wickline, Brigham Meredith; his sister and brother-in-law Clara and Billy KInzie of Newport; and his sister-in-law Shirley Meredith of Newport. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 pm in The New River Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Pembroke with burial following in the Martin Family Cemetery on Doe Creek. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday evening from 6 until 8 pm. The Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke is in charge of the arrangements.
