Meredith, Peggy Sue

Peggy Sue Atkins Meredith, 76 of Pembroke departed this life to be in her Heavenly Home November 19, 2020 in the care of Carilion Giles Community Hospital. Born in Giles County on May 31, 1944, she was a daughter of the late Lamar and Ruth Hilton Atkins.

Sue practiced her faith as a member of God’s House in Pembroke. She enjoyed her life loving her family. She enjoyed her work at VPI, was an avid golfer, a member of the Carilion Giles Community Hospital Board, and Pembroke Woman’s Club.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Penny Huffman.

Left to cherish her memory to their hearts are her husband Gerald Meredith of 56 years; son and daughter-in-law, Marty and Tammy Ratcliff Meredith of Pembroke; granddaughter, Grace Meredith; brother, Sammy (JoAnn Atkins); brothers and sisters in-law, Bill and Judy Mance, Kevin and Sandy Meredith, Dwayne Meredith, and Sharon; special niece, Shelly Hughes; special nephew, Slater Atkins; and special great nieces and a great nephew, Julia Atkins, Mattie Atkins, and Jordan Hughes.

There will be a Celebration of Life Memorial Service held Monday, November 20, 2020 at 2:00 PM in the Birchlawn Abbey Chapel in Pearisburg, VA with Pastor David Atkinson officiating. Online condolences may be sent by visiting kendallfuneralhome.com.
