Meredith, Mayme Minnick

Mayme Minnick Meredith, age 87, of Christiansburg died Monday, September 15, 2014 at the New River Valley Medical Center. She was born in McCoy, Va. on April 16, 1927 to the late William Miller and Mary Lucille McCoy Minnick. She was preceded in death by her husband James Garnett Meredith.

She is survived by four daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and Robert Simpkins, Brenda Wade, and Hannah Abate, all of Christiansburg, Martha and Tim Conner, of Shawsville; two sisters and brother-in-law, Nelda and Carl Graves, of Longshop, and Evelyn Duncan, of Bassett nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thanks to Hannah Abate, for her constant special care for the last ten years of Mayme’s life. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Spencer officiating. Interment will follow in the Snodgrass Cemetery, Spruce Run Community of Giles County. The family will receive friends from 12 to 2:00 pm before the service at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
