Meredith, Helen Wilkinson

Helen Wilkinson Meredith, 90, of Narrows, Va., went home to be the Lord on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on February 24, 1921, and was the daughter of the late Mitchell and Adeline Akers Wilkinson. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Frank Meredith; a son, Timothy Meredith; a grandson, Rick Cook; three brothers; and two sisters. She was a member of New Valley Fellowship in Narrows. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, great-great- grandmother, sister and friend, Helen will be dearly missed by her family and many friends. Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Linda Frazier and husband, Bob, of Narrows, and Dreama Hale and husband, Felix (Snake), of Narrows; a son, Larry Meredith and wife, Patty, of Christiansburg; grandchildren, Rusty Cook and wife, Martha, Rick’s wife, Kim Cook, Kristy Cook, Sonny Frazier and wife, Tammy, Bridget Newby and husband, Rusty, Jill Chambers and husband, D.J., Randy Meredith and wife, Jennifer, Tony Meredith, and Samantha Meredith; 20 great- grandchildren; one great- great-grandson; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many special friends and caregivers. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 7, 2012, in the chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with the Rev. D.J. Chambers officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Narrows.
