amem-lakeside.jpgWilliam Palmer “Pete” Melton, 75, of Pulaski, died on Sunday, March 28, 2010 in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born in Pulaski on January 24, 1935 and was the son of the late Fredrick Melton, Sr. and Annie Donithan Melton.

He was also preceded in death by his wife Pearl Freeman Melton, a brother Fredrick Melton, Jr. and by a sister Iva Jewel Melton Riffe.

Pete was a retired barber with the Pulaski Barber Shop.

Surviving are: daughter, Mary Yonne Melton, Pulaski; son and daughter-in-law, Reed and Pinkey Melton, Pulaski; sisters, Emma Sue Melton Collins, Wytheville; Peggy Jane Melton Ragnome, Denver, Colo.; Lillian Frances Melton Stilwell, Max Meadows; Faye Melton Barker, Dublin; brothers, Roby Reed Melton, Sr., Pulaski; Douglas Jackson Melton, Pulaski; and special nephew, Grant Barker Goad, Dublin.

The family would like to say a special thank you to the staff at English Meadows Assisted Living for all of the care they gave Pete while he was there.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 31, at 2 p.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Amos officiating. Burial will follow in the Hufford Cemetery, Pulaski. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m.
