Meeks, Fannie Arlene

Fannie Arlene Meeks, 79, of Floyd, Va., passed away Thursday, March 19, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Osie Conner; brother, Jim Conner.

She is survived by her husband, Riley Meeks Sr.; sons, Stephen Smith, of Blacksburg, Gary Smith and wife, Theresa, of Floyd; grandchildren, Holly Davis and husband, Justin, of Salem, Stephen Smith, of Salem; greatgrandchildren, Taylor Davis, Ashlyn Davis; sisters, Opal Webster, of Roanoke, Libby Hockett and husband, Wimbish, of Meadows of Dan; brother, Ted Conner and wife, Betty, Port Orange, Fla.; stepchildren, Pam McLain and husband, Frank, Sue Ligon and husband, Mark, Riley Meeks Jr. and wife, Pam, all of Reidsville, N.C., Judy Overby, of Burlington, N.C., Robin Parrish, of Willow Spring, N.C., Bunnie Lopez and husband, Manuel, of Burlington, N.C., Jennifer Hopper, of Floyd, Justin Hopper, of Floyd.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2009, at Conner Cemetery (Mountain View United Methodist Church) with Mr. Bill Banks officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Friday at Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd. Arrangements by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
