Meadows, Mamie Frances
Mamie Frances Meadows, 86, of Peck St., Pembroke, departed this life Wednesday morning, March 11, 2015 at Lewis-Gale Montgomery Hospital in Blacksburg. Born in Kimballton on April 11, 1928, she was a daughter of the late Brown and Lucille Stevers Carter.
Mamie was a member of Spruce Run Chapel at Forest Hill, WV and was involved from her youth in Christian work especially lending her beautiful singing voice to the worship of her Savior, and as a pastors wife served the people of the church. She was a graduate of Pembroke High School class of 1948. Preceding her in death were her parents, her brothers Dennis and Deward Carter and her sisters Isabelle Elizabeth Carter and Lorena “Judy” Sage.
She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband, Rev. Orville E. Meadows; her devoted daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Mason Junior Snider, of Pembroke; her brother and sister-in-law, Coy and Wanda Carter, of Gold Bond; her sisters and brother-in-law, Constance Niece, of Ripplemead, Nancy Williams, of Pearisburg and Dolly and Jimmy Martin, of Gold Bond; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted 2 p.m. Saturday, March 14, 2015 at in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street, Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening, March 13, 2015 at the funeral home.
