On February 23, 2023, Jimmie Curtis Meadows, age 64, went to his Heavenly home. He was hero to his wife, son and his grandchildren.

Jimmie was born June 30, 1958 to the late A.C. & Etta Wolfe Meadows. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his nephew Lee Conley and his sister-in-law, Patsy Robertson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife since February 14, 1979, Bobbie Breedlove Meadows, of Pearisburg; his greatest blessings, his son, Jamie Meadows and his grandchildren, Will Meadows and Eva Meadows, all of Knoxville, TN; his sister, Lynne Conley, of Pearisburg; his nephew, Daniel Conley; his sister-in-law, Nancy (Charlie) Stewart, of Radford, VA and his niece, Holly Stewart; a niece he loved like his own, Mandy (Brent) Atwood, of Pearisburg; his nephew, Jason Robertson, of Blacksburg; a host of great nieces, nephews, cousins and children that called him “Paw Paw Jim”; and many special friends along the way who loved him and will miss him greatly.

Jimmie’s favorite phrase to his wife was always, “I’m fine.” He loved being home and listening to music. He was proud to say he had been a firefighter and an EMT. He loved watching old John Wayne movies and westerns. He was a member of the Giles High School Class of 1976.

Jimmie retired with 42 years of service from Celanese. He was a wonderful provider and had a strong work ethic. He believed you had to work to have something.

The family would like to send out special thanks to friends, neighbors, and loved ones who have helped get us through Jimmie’s illness and all of the difficult times. We love and appreciate each and everyone of you all and appreciate continued prayers.

Per his wishes, Jimmie will be cremated. A celebration of Jimmie’s life is planned for Sunday, March 5, 2023 at 3:30P.M. at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel with Connie Richardson officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 P.M. until celebration time, 3:30 P.M.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Jimmie’s honor to the Giles County Christian Service Mission, 516 Wenonah Ave., Pearisburg, VA 24134.

The Meadows family is in the care of A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, avestandsons.com, (540) 921-2985.
