Meadows, Ellen Lorene

Ellen Lorene Meadows, age 80, of Blacksburg, went home to the Lord Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in Pembroke, VA on August 13, 1932 to the late Elbert Lee and Minnie Exie Martin Keffer and was also preceded in death by her infant sister Frances Keffer; husband, Omer Lee Meadows.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Sandra Ellen Hendricks of Pilot, Deborah Gale and Gary Akers of Elliston; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael Lee and Debbie Meadows of Christiansburg, Billy Joe and Kaye Meadows of Blacksburg; sisters, Janie Smith of Lynchburg, Marion Lowe Eppard of Standardsville, Mary Catherine Williams of Bluefield; brothers, Elbert Lane Keffer of Pearisburg, Martin Edward Keffer of Newport; 9 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.

The family wishes to thank the Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery 2nd floor PCU doctors, nurses, and staff.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Tony Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Central & Western VA Chapter-Roanoke Region, 2728 Colonial Ave., Suite 2, Roanoke, VA 24015 or Epilesy Foundation of VA, 8301 Professional Place, Landover, MD 20785.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
