bibleopenShirley F. Meador, born in Bluefield, W.Va. on April 8, 1932, joined our Heavenly Father on October 12, 2013. She was a life long resident of Dublin, where she met and married the one and only love of her life, the deceased A. H. (Dick) Meador Jr., and they began the most cherished part of their life, raising their family of four girls. She is survived by four loving daughters and sons-in-law; Vickie Hall (Terry), Debra Wilson (Jim), Tammy Spisak (Mark), and the youngest of her four angels, Ashby Roberts; and her husband, Richard, who cared for her full time for the last five years in a Christ-like manner. Each of her daughters showed her enormous love, care and comfort, as their mother had shown them. She loved Jesus and modeled his love. She was a beloved “Nannie” to 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren, who absolutely loved and adored her. She was also “Shirl” to three loving sisters, Betty Radford, Peggy Childress, and Linda Hall. Her brother, H. R. Farmer Jr., is deceased. She also leaves behind a very devoted caretaker and companion, Melissa (Missy) All. Shirley was a member of the United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed bible study at the home of her life long friend, Bonna Beamer. She was a member of the order of the Eastern Star, Republican Women’s Club and spent numerous volunteer hours with her daughters’ activities. She enjoyed many hours playing (and winning) Scrabble, her passionate pastime, with friends and family. Funeral arrangements will be directed by Stevens Funeral Home in Pulaski, with internment to follow at Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin, followed by a celebration of her life at Rockwood Manor in Dublin. Funeral services will begin at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at Stevens in Pulaski. Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, October 15, 2013, at Stevens Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be her loving and devoted grandsons, Erik Wilson, Tyke Hall, Travis Hall, Tabun (Toby) Hall, Preston Farmer, Mackenzie Cecil, Jacob Roberts and grandson-in-law, James Strickland. Honorary Pallbearers are Adam Wilson and Jamison Roberts. There are no words to describe how much we will all miss her. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home.
