He loved the Lord, he held his family dearly, and he loved and cared for many others.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Gloria “Dee Dee” Meador, and Catherine Keaton; one brother, Randy Meador; two sisters-in-law, Peggy Meador and Donna Meador; and one brother-in-law, Sonny Begil.

Roger is survived by his loving wife of 57 ½ years, Sandra Berry Meador, who was his devoted caregiver throughout his struggle with dementia; one daughter, Vickie Smith and husband Bradley of High Point, NC; one grandson, Lacy Reed and wife Hannah, and their sons Rory, Reuben, and Esmond, of Cross Lanes, WV; four brothers, Samuel Meador Jr. and Danny Meador, both of Pipestem, WV, Larry Meador and wife Yvonne of Winston Salem, NC, and Gary Meador and wife Terri of Nimitz, WV; one sister, Barbara Begil of Proctorville, OH; sister-in-law, Brenda Lilly and husband Richard of Princeton, WV; brother-in-law, James Berry and wife Linda of Princeton, WV; and many nieces and nephews.

Roger, a father, a precious gift from above, genuine provider, fierce protector, a cornerstone of his family.

Roger’s wish was to be cremated and a celebration of his life will be held for his family at a later date.
