Meade, Ruby Jane

Ruby Jane Meade, 97, of Pulaski, died Friday night, September 26, 2014, in the Pulaski Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Virginia on May 10, 1917, and was the daughter of the late William Billy and Ellen Cipers Salyer.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Meade; by a daughter, Charlotte Burroughs Wright; by her brothers and their spouses, Emmett and Thelma Salyer and William D. and Virginia Maye Weddle Salyer; and by her sisters, Jacquline Collins, Maggie Self, Mae Cox and Hattie (no last name). Ruby worked hard and loved her family. She was retired from Dublin Garment after 20 years of service. Surviving are son and spouse, Billy and Margaret Meade; daughters, Wilma Marie Burroughs, Elenora Meade Hoback; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, September 30, 2014, from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Russell Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski Co. Visiting will be Tuesday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the service hour.
