Carl Nixon McNeil, Sr., 79, of Radford, VA, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, August 1, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, J. Everette and Nora Flinchum McNeil, wife of 47 years, Ramsey E. McNeil, sisters and brothers-in-law, Ailene and Arlo Sowers, Pauline and Barney Pitsinger, Margie and Kenneth Allman, Ada Morgan, and Clover and Bob Ratcliff, brothers, Aaron McNeil, Raymond McNeil, Everette Junior McNeil and Alvin McNeil, and brother-in-law, David English.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julie McNeil, Son, Nick (Selena) McNeil; step-daughters, Tammy (Richard) Call, Lorrie (Wallace) Huff, grandchildren, Cody (Kimberly) McNeil and Olivia McNeil; step-grandchildren, Ashley (Matt) and Ellowyn Hanson, Ronnie Payne, Bethany Payne, Wallace Lee, Mason, Brady and Stella Huff; great-grandson, Holden McNeil; sister, Lois (Ron) Sedlacek, sisters-in-law, Ocie McNeil, Gloria McNeil, Betty Lynn McNeil and Karen English, brother-in-law, William Morgan and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Carilion Hospice and Comfort Care Senior Home.

Flowers are appreciated but Memorial contributions may be made to Faith Missionary Baptist Pre-school Scholarship Fund or Auburn Baptist Christian Academy.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 6, 2018 from 1:00 to 3:00 and 5:00 to 8:00 pm at Horne Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will be conducted on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 at 11:00 am at Auburn Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Vest and Pastor Jerry Gibson officiating. Interment will follow at Old Pagelyn Rd. Cemetery, Radford. A Celebration of Life will then take place at the farm with a concert by The Primitive Quartet and dinner at Little River Bluegrass Barn and Event Center. All are welcome!
