McMillan, Bonnie S.

Bonnie S. McMillan, 58, formerly of Christiansburg, went to be with her Heavenly Father on March 5, 2008, at the university hospital in Newark, N.J.

She was born October 7, 1949, in Filbert, W.Va., to the late Robert and Mable McMillan. Bonnie attended school in Christiansburg until moving to Newark, N.J. at an early age.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Mable McMillan; brother, Doug; and niece, Rachel. She is survived by her son, Johnathon Logan and long time companion, John Logan, of Newark, N.J.; sisters, Marva J. Dooley, Barbara Turner, Peggy McMillan and Gwen Purcell, all of Christiansburg, Va.; brothers, Robert D. McMillan, of Christiansburg, Va., and Richard L. McMillan, of Salem, Va. She is also is survived by her nieces and nephews; great-nieces, nephews and cousins; a close friend who stayed by her side until the end, Angie Narvaez ,of Newark; and a host of other relatives and good friends.

Bonnie’s organs were donated to give others a “Gift of Life.” Her memorial service was held at 10 a.m. March 8, 2008, at Cotton Funeral Home, 1025 Bergen St., Newark, N.J., and interment at Rosedale Cemetery, Orange, N.J.
