Mr. James Aquila (Buzz) McMickle Sr., 57, of Pulaski, Va., died Friday, June 27, 2008, in the Pulaski Health and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born in Pulaski on July 12, 1950, and was the son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Clonee Lands McMickle and stepmother, Gladys McMickle.

Surviving are his wife, Laura Bell Cooper McMickle; daughter and son-in-law, Clonee McMickle and Scott Tate; sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffon and Angelene McMickle and James and Kimberly McMickle; special son, Shannon Covey, eight grandchildren; and a host of family including sisters-inlaw, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was known for his many nicknames Buzz, Speedy, Jim Bob and Buzzard. He will be dearly missed by family and friends.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 12, 2008, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Old Route 100, Draper, Va. Mr. McMickle was cremated and there will be no visitation. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski, Va.
