mcmahan_steven_thomasSteven Thomas McMahan of Blacksburg, VA, age 63, lived life to the fullest. He joined his friends and loved ones in heaven on Monday, Jan 6, 2015 after a brief illness. He was born to the late Walter and Elva Britts McMahan of Pembroke, VA on May 23, 1951.

He was also preceded in death by his brother, Timmy McMahan.

He will be greatly missed by his best friend and loving wife, Cathy Taylor.

Steve was a devoted Virginia Tech fan, Hokie Benefactor, and a member of the UT Prosim Society. He was an entrepreneur, visionary, adventurer, food connoisseur, music aficionado, and a proud member of the 420 Sporting Club. He enjoyed spending time at his farm with Cathy, his friends and his loyal dogs/children, Crybaby and Marlee.

Memories of Steve will be treasured by all who knew him, to include: his brother, Terry and Lois McMahan of Roanoke, VA; Father and Mother In Law, Ray and Marlene Taylor of Pearisburg, VA; his Sisters in Law and Brothers in Law, Carolyn and Rick Witt of Pearisburg, Tammy and Mike Kight of Fishersville, VA, and Buddy and Kelly Taylor of Pearisburg. Other survivors include his many nieces and nephews: Rikki Jennell; Dr.’s Jamie and David Buck; Michael and Tara Kight; Taylor Kight; Nicholas and Amber Kight; Catherine and Josh Wilson; Cliff and Jessica Taylor; Shayne and Braeden Taylor; Brett and Stephanie McMahan; and Brooke McMahan.

Steve was known for his kind and generous heart, quick wit, and great sense of humor. Because of these traits, there are too many special friends to list. In the spirit of his sense of humor, the “Dude” will be sadly missed.

The family will receive friends at Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke, VA, on Saturday, January 10, from 2:00-4:00 pm, with a memorial service to follow.
