McMahan, Carolyn Ruth

Caroline Meredith McMahan, 68, of Christiansburg, passed away, Saturday, December 24, 2011 after a battle with cancer, at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery.

She was born in Giles County, Virginia on August 24, 1943 to the late Albert Cecil and Iona Tempest Vaught Meredith and also preceded in death by a daughter, Lisa Gail McMahan.

She leaves behind a daughter, Joyce Hall and a long time partner, Jim Martin and her former husband, Raymond McMahan, all of Christiansburg; five sisters and brothers-in-law, Madaline Martin, Alberta Wright, Bernice and Tom Frith, Shirley Perdue, and Gloria and Ronnie Davidson; two brothers, Ellis Meredith and Leon Meredith; three grandchildren and their spouses, Melissa and Dewey Taylor, Christopher and Ashley Hall, and Billy Hall; six great-grandchildren, Candy, Devan, Carston, C.J., Dayton, Ryland, and one that will be here in January, Dewey Taylor, IV; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Thursday, December 29, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Westview Cemetery with the Rev. Jube Burk officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
