McLeod, Donald Michael

Donald Michael (Mike) McLeod, age 68 of Dublin, died Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 16, 1950 in Pulaski, and was the son of the late Mabel R. Gunn McLeod, and Donald Allen McLeod.

He retired with 42½ years of service to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality. Mike’s last years were with New River Conservancy on a part-time basis.

He is survived by his loving wife, Rebecca (Becky) D. McLeod of Dublin: Son, T. Wade (Terri) Umberger of Dublin: grandsons; Jake Umberger, and Duncan Umberger. Mike wanted his family and friends to know he loved them. He loved his classmates from Dublin High School Class of 1968.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 28, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at his church, Dublin United Methodist Church with Rev. Don Handshew and the Rev. Don Shelor officiating. A graveside service will be held Monday, April 29, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dublin Town Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday at the church from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m.
