navyLieutenant Michael R. McKenna, USN retired, 65 went to be with the Lord on Wednesday September 25, 2013, at his home surrounded by his family in Charles Town, W.Va. He was formerly of Pearisburg. Mr. McKenna was a veteran of the United States Navy, and served his country proudly in Vietnam. He was a graduate of George Washington University with a Masters in Science, and was a sports fan and an avid New York Yankees fan. He was born on April 9, 1948, in Massachusetts. He was preceded in death by his father, John W. McKenna. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Gloria (Gaye) Earnest McKenna; his mother, Winnie McKenna; his daughter, Virginia Ellen Horner and her husband, Brad; his grandchildren, Ashley and Michael Horner; his sister, Gail Lambrix and her husband, Mike; and many aunts; an uncle; nieces; nephews; and cousins.
