Lettie Kate Kegley McGuire, 83, of Fairlawn, went to be with the Lord on Friday, January 28, 2022. Kate was a Registered Nurse at McGuire Veterans Hospital for 35 years. She loved her Lord Jesus Christ and read her Bible daily. She loved Elvis and watching Virginia Tech football games. She spent her last hours praying and singing the Old Rugged Cross. Her las words were, “I love you all”. She attended Belspring United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her children, Sandra Thompson and Chet of Chesterfield, John McGuire, Jr. and Terry of Richmond, Diane Shane of Fairlawn, and Wanda James of Roanoke; her brother, Paul Kegley of Roanoke; 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, Elbert and Lettie Kegley; her husband, John Kenneth McGuire; her son, Thomas Elbert McGuire; and her siblings, Clyde, Thelma and Roger.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 until 11 a.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford. Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. with Rev. Ginny Tompkins officiating. Interment will be private.

The McGuire family is in the care of Mullins Funeral Home & Crematory in Radford.
