McGuire, Ernest Monroe

Ernest Monroe McGuire, 81, of Christiansburg went to be with the Lord on July 12, 2019. He was a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. Ernest enjoyed hunting and fishing, but enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren most of all. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, and a sister. Ernest is survived by his loving wife of 56 years who cared for him the last four, Joyce Ann McGuire; son, Shawn McGuire and wife, Terri; grandchildren, Todd McGuire, Jonathan McGuire and Austin McGuire; sisters-in-law, Christine, Brenda, Karen, Janice and Lisa; and many nieces and nephews. Joyce would like to thank special niece, Linda Blankenship and sister-in-law, Karen. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday. July 17, 2019 at Horne Funeral Home. A memorial service will follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Roy Turpin officiating.
