McFall, Samuel Duane
Samuel Duane McFall, 64, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rich Creek. He was born in Pulaski County on October 6, 1948, and was the son of the late Silas and Lillian Mae Tolbert McFall. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Cennie Elizabeth Welch and Mary Dean; an infant brother; and an infant sister.
Samuel served in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War, and was a lifetime member of VFW Post #1115 of Hillsville. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved the outdoors. He is survived by a son, Patrick McFall and fiance Amanda Reeves, of Wythe County; two daughters, Kim Weatherly and husband Danny, of Narrows, and Stephanie Conner and husband, Kevin, of Cana; six grandchildren, Alicia Long and husband Ernie, Samantha Weatherly, Megan Weatherly, Trent McFall, Madison Conner, and Evan (E.J.) Conner; a brother, Carlos McFall, of Pulaski; a brother-in-law, Mike Dean, of Pulaski; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many special friends, including his extended family at Riverview Nursing and Rehabilitation in Rich Creek. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013, in the Chapel of Riffes’ Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor John Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow in Thornspring Cemetery in Pulaski County. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Chapel Sunday from noon until just prior to the service.
