amem_lighthouse.jpgWilliam Stover McEver, Ph. D., 63, of Warrenton, Va., died Dec. 19, 2006 at his home. He was born July 9, 1943 in Roanoke, Va., a son of the late H. Macauley (Mac) McEver and Eleanor Adnar Stover McEver. He was preceded in death by his brother, H. Macauley McEver, Jr.

He was raised in Blacksburg and received a Bachelor of Science Degree from Virginia Tech. He received his Ph. D. in Physics from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Mr. McEver worked as Senior Lead Scientist/ Engineer with M. R. J. which eventually became a part of General Dynamics. He was a member of Warrenton Presbyterian Church where he had served as a Deacon and an Usher.

He is survived by his wife, Victoria W. McEver; one son, Mark A. McEver of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and one sister, Frances M.H. Russell, Blacksburg, Va.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 22, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Warrenton Presbyterian Church. A graveside service will be held Sunday, December 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, Va.
