Alma Shultz McDonald, 96, of Rich Creek, Va., is with our Lord and Savior. Born April 19, 1913, to the late Martin Luther and Janie Rushbrooke Shultz in Green Valley, W.Va., Mrs. McDonald was a former employee of the Celanese Corp., working in the Bobbin Store, was an excellent seamstress for many people, a member of the First Baptist Church of Rich Creek were she held many offices and was a member of the WMU of the church. She devoted many hours to the Riverview Nursing Home as a volunteer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 41 years, Russell Kent McDonald; two brothers, Earl (Jack) and Martin L. Shultz; and a sister, Ollie Schaller.

She is survived by her loving and devoted son, James Russell McDonald and fiance Brenda Bowles, of Rich Creek, Va.; a special granddaughter, Jessica McDonald and fianc Zach Alger; four month old great-grandson, Brayden James McDonald-Alger; a special stepson, Darrell McDonald and wife, Barbara, of Ripplemead, Va.; one stepgrandson, Kent (Kenny) McDonald; a former daughter-in-law, Rosa Bouldin; several nieces and nephews, special caregivers, Raymond and Cathy McDonald, Joyce Martin, Nancy Fisher and Shirley Epling.

Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 1, 2009, at the First Baptist Church, Rich Creek, Va., with the Rev. Jim Pickett officiating. Burial will follow at the McDonald-Wilson Cemetery, Peterstown, W.Va.

Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2009, at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, Peterstown, W.Va. and one hour prior to the services at the church.
