McDaniel, Opal Miller

Opal Miller McDaniel, 98, of Pilot, passed away on Monday, March 25, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sherfie McDaniel; her parents, George and Linda Miller; four brothers, Walter Miller, Joseph Miller, Howard Miller, and Junior Miller; and four sisters, Ruby Sowers, Gladys Hale, Billie Smith, and Hazel Casar.

She is survived by her son, Edward McDaniel, of Pilot; two sisters, Anges Blevins, of Roanoke and Margie Gray, of Troutville; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Horne Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2013, in the Horne Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Dwayne Martin officiating.
