McDaniel, Mary Alice

Mary Alice McDaniel, 89, of Blacksburg, died on Thursday, April 14, 2011, at Kroontje Health Care Center. She was born in Piper, Ala., on November 15, 1921, to the late Otis Lee and Lucy Whatley Greene. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Alton Lester McDaniel. She is survived by her daughter, Mary Ann McDaniel, of Blacksburg; her son and daughter-in-law, David and Ellie McDaniel, of Blacksburg; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, April 16, 2011, in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg, with the Rev. Scott West officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Warm Hearth Foundation, 2607 Warm hearth Drive, Suite 100, Blacksburg, VA 24060. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
