McDaniel, James William

James William (Buddy) McDaniel, 79, of Radford, Va., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 2, 2009. He was a mechanic with Old Colony Box Company where he retired with over 44 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William B. and Mamie Pannell McDaniel; a brother, Donald McDaniel; and a sister, Daphine Robinson. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Sylvia Duncan McDaniel; a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Edwina McDaniel; a daughter, Debbie Sutphin; a granddaughter, Kara Sutphin; and two grandsons, Tyler and Justin McDaniel, all of Radford.

Funeral services will be held at noon on Friday, September 4, 2009, at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford with the Rev. Glennard Quesenberry and the Pastor Ted Farmer officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Thursday evening, September 3, 2009, at the funeral home.
