McCrickard, Mabel Lovern

Mabel Lovern McCrickard, 81, of Elliston, Va., passed away at her home on Monday evening, November 22, 2010. She was born on December 24, 1928, in Roanoke, Va. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, James Wilson McCrickard. She loved the Lord and was a member of Big Spring Baptist Church. She is survived by her children, Jeannie (Tim) Barnes, of Bronson, Fla., Janet (Gene) Armel, of Elliston, Va., Jack (Anna) McCrickard, of Christiansburg, Va., and Jewel (Dale) Woods, of Salem, Va. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren; and 10 greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sister, Juanita Bufford. The family extends deep appreciation for the meticulous care given by daughter, Janet; granddaughter, Jessica; and great-granddaughter, Jennica Barnes. A heart felt thanks to the staff of Good Samaritan Hospice for their support. In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to the charity of your choice. The family will receive friends at the Horne Funeral Home in Christiansburg on Friday, November 26, 2010, from 5 to 8 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 27, 2010, at Big Spring Baptist Church in Elliston with the Rev.
