McCrary, Kenneth Lewis
Kenneth Lewis McCrary, of Pulaski, peacefully left this earth for his heavenly home on March 23, 2017.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Hilda McCrary; and brothers Donald, R.P., Allen, and Alvin McCrary. Left to cherish his memory is the wife of 56 years, Rhelda Owens McCrary; daughters, Jennifer L. McCrary, of Pensacola, Fla., and Angela D. Landreth of Pulaski, Va.; granddaughters, Emily, Maizy and Molly. Also, sister, Anna Hire, of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; brother, Dewey McCrary, of Hendersonville, Tenn.; sister and brother-in-law, David and Royzetta Akers; and nephews, Justin and Taylor Akers. Ken also has many nieces and nephews that will cherish the memories of Uncle Ken.
Ken was a proud retired welder and traveled all over, even overseas for welding jobs, often times traveling with his wife and two girls. Once they settled in Pulaski, he spent time playing golf and became a huge fan and supporter of The Pulaski County High School Golf Team. Not only did he sponsor, for many years, a fish fry for the team, he also caught and fried the fish himself. He was an avid fan of The University of Tennessee Volunteers. He loved showing off his pride as he always dressed in UT colors, orange and white.
Viewing will be held at Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, 815 Randolph Ave Pulaski VA, from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 26, 2017, with the Service beginning at 3 p.m. The burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens. the Rev. Jory Hire, nephew from Goodlettsville Tenn., and the Rev. Becky Wheeler, of Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church, will officiate the service.
The family would like to thank everyone for the prayers and support over the years. Ken will be greatly missed by all. Thank you to the ICU unit at Lewis Gale and to the Rev. Becky Wheeler. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Heart Association or Jordan’s Chapel United Methodist Church.
