McCoy, Yvonne Kessinger

Yvonne Kessinger McCoy, age 66, of McCoy moved to her eternal home, Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Lewis Gale Hospital- Montgomery. She was born in Pearisburg, Va. on April 11, 1949. She is preceded in death by her father, Albert Eugene “Pete” Kessinger and also preceded by two sisters, Debra Adeoti and Gloria Scott.

Yvonne graduated from Giles High School in 1967 and retired as Post Master at McCoy Post Office in September 2014 with 34 years of service. She was a member of Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).

She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Larry K. McCoy, daughter, Lorie McCoy and Ricky Hughes, son and daughter-in-law, Blake and Jennifer McCoy, all of McCoy, mother, Claudine M. Martin, of Pembroke, sister and brother-in-law, Derhonda and Robert Cline, of Woodstock. Several nephews and 1 niece. Special friends, Ollie Jones and grandchildren, William and Elizabeth, Vanessa McCoy.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, January 2, 2016 at 11:00 am in the Blacksburg Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) 240 Watson Ave., Blacksburg. with Rev. Gary McCoy and Robert Cline officiating. Interment will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery, McCoy.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Long Shop-McCoy Rescue Squad P.O. Box 489 McCoy, Va. 24111. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Friday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
