McCoy Sr. Allen Medwick

Allen Medwick McCoy Sr. 76, of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2012. He was born on August 27, 1935, in McCoy, to Allen and Gladys Wheeler McCoy. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Russell “Bud” McCoy; sisters, Evelyn Smith, Maxine Poindexter, Nancy Chumbley; and grandson, Mathew McCoy.

Mr. McCoy retired after 30 years of service with Norfolk Southern.

Surviving are his wife Toby McCoy; sons, Allen McCoy Jr.; Mike and Terry McCoy; Chris McCoy and Sandra; grandchildren, Eric and wife, Linda; Kayla and husband, Dean; and Kristin; great-grandchildren, Kaiden, Kinzey, and Jax.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Leukemia Foundation.

A graveside service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, June 23, 2012, in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road. 540-366-0707.
