McCoy, Ruth Olivia

Ruth Olivia McCoy, 91, of McCoy, died Friday, July 29, 2011, at Lewis Gale Hospital-Montgomery. She was born in McCoy, Virginia on January 3, 1920 to the late George Seymour Beecher and Eura Lenora Kerr McCoy.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Berman McCoy; three sisters and brothers-in-laws, Margie and Bill Talley, Ruby and Currie Brown, and Lida and Edison Dowdy; four brothers, Walter McCoy, Leonard McCoy, Emmett McCoy, and Buford McCoy.

She is survived by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Rachel H. McCoy, Clarence and Louise McCoy, and Melita McCoy, all of McCoy. Ruth leaves behind numerous special friends, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 1, 2011 at 11 a.m. in the Community Christian Church, McCoy, with Mr. Bobby E. Fuller and Mr. James O. Flaugher officiating. Interment will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery, McCoy, Va.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
