McCoy, Jessie Lee

Jessie Lee McCoy, 85, of McCoy, Va., died on Thursday, October 4, 2007 at Radford Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born in McCoy, Va., on February 13, 1922 to the late William Everett and Minnie Sue Gertrude Albert McCoy.

He was also preceded in death by a son, Steven Lynn McCoy; a sister, Reba M. Porterfield; and four brothers, Donald E., Douglas E., Aubrey C., and Arnold A. McCoy. Jessie was a longtime member of the Community Christian Church and retired from V.P.I. & S.U. in 1987 after 30 years of service. He was also a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army.

He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Cleo Thornton McCoy; his son and daughter-in-law, Garry Lee and Cheryl Rae Tiller McCoy of Oxford, Mich.; his daughter and son-in-law, Judy Dawn and Michael E. Keister of Radford; a sister and brother-in-law, Dana Louise and Elwood White of McCoy; four grandchildren and spouses, Ryan Mitchell Keister of Blacksburg, Julie Lynn and Chris Pittenturf of Grand Blanc, Mich., Brock Antony and Michelle Keister of Christiansburg, and Lauren Marie Keister of Christiansburg; four great-grandchildren, Kyle Keister, Mabry Keister, Joshua Pittenturf, and Caleb Pittenturf; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 8 , 2007 at 11 a.m. in the Community Christian Church with Mr. James O. Flaugher and Mr. Bobby E. Fuller officiating. Interment will follow in the Albert Family Cemetery, McCoy. Flowers will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Blue Ridge Christian Camp, 1751 Sterling Drive, Blacksburg, Va. 24060.

Friends may call anytime after 12 Noon on Sunday, October 7, 2007 and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg, Va.
