Jeffrey “Jeff” Lewis McCoy, age 56, of McCoy passed away Thursday, April 14, 2016 at his home. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on January 23, 1960 and was preceded in death by his father, Alvin Lewis McCoy. Jeff was a member (#653) of the Longshop-McCoy Fire Department with 40 years of service, loved to hunt, fish, play golf and spending his time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Tina D. McCoy; mother, Joyce C. McCoy and Dallas McPeak; son and daughter-in-law, Allen L. and Amanda McCoy; brother and sister-in-law, Greg and Robin H. McCoy; all of McCoy; grandchildren, Blanton McCoy, Seth Duncan, Sophia McCoy, Hydee McCoy; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Janet and Billy Dowdy of Christiansburg; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Angela and Doug Harless of Christiansburg, Rhonda and Tony Huff of Pilot, Richard and Sarah Dowdy of Riner; nephews, Justin Huff, Adam Harless, Daniel Harless, Aaron Dowdy, Steve Dowdy, Josh Dowdy; nieces, Brittney Huff, Danielle and Russell Hurt; 2 great nephews; special aunts and uncles, Mary Ray and Rufus Spence, John and Frances McCoy; special cousins Sarah and Claude Kenley, Sara Grace and Cameron, Joe and Darlene Wood, Gail and Doug Williams, Keith and Amy Williams, Debbie Tuck; the Longshop-McCoy Fire Department Family; Duncan Automotive Family.

Special thanks to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center, Dr. Powell, Susan and 6th floor nurses and staff; Dr. McCoy and staff; the outpatient surgical department at Lewis Gale-Montgomery; Neal Turner; special friends, Dale McCoy, Jeff Vaught, Steve Graham, Terry Albert, Charlie Henderson, Tim Henderson, Joe, Candy and Amanda Stowers, Ricky and Dreama Price.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, April 18, 2016 at 1:00 pm in the Longshop-McCoy Fire Department, 5770 McCoy Road, with the Rev. Neal Turner officiating. Interment will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 pm Sunday evening at the Longshop-McCoy Fire Department.
