Hobert Duane McCoy, 78, of McCoy, died Saturday, April 22, 2006, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in McCoy, Va., on July 4, 1927 to the late McKinley Hobert and Mary Jane Price McCoy.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Jeanette McCoy and a brother, Alvin Lewis McCoy.

He retired from Holiday Ford with 34 years of service, as Parts Manager. Duane was also a Navy Veteran of World War II. He was also a member of the Norris Run Community Holiness Church, and was a charter member of the Longshop McCoy Fire Department and Rescue Squad.

He is survived by his wife, Melita McCoy, of McCoy; daughters and son-in-law, Sharon Lynn McCoy and Frank Wilkins, of Fairlawn, Sarah Jane and Claude Kenley, of McCoy; son and daughter-in-law, Joel D. and Cinda M. McCoy, of McCoy; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Rae and Rufus Spence, of Cedar Bluff, Va.; sister-in-law, Joyce C. McCoy, of McCoy; brother and sister-in-law, John A. and Frances McCoy, of McCoy; grandchildren, Melinda Lynn and husband, Steve Slusser, of Blacksburg, Drew Viars and wife, Christine, of McCoy, Michael Monroe, of Pembroke, Jamie McBride and husband, Doug, of McCoy, Jennifer Sewell and husband, Doug, of Pembroke, Cameron Kenley, of McCoy, Sarah Grace Kenley, of McCoy; great-grandchildren, Matthew McCoy and wife Sarah, of Blacksburg, Billy Graham, of Blacksburg, Ethan Slusser, of Blacksburg, Harlie Slusser, of Blacksburg, Hannah Viars, of McCoy, and Devon Viars, of McCoy.

Graveside services will be conducted Monday, April 24, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Family Cemetery with the Rev. Doug Price and Mr. Jim Flaugher officiating. Interment will follow service. The family would like to thank the second floor staff at Montgomery Regional Hospital and also Dr. Harry McCoy for all the loving care extended to Duane during his illness.

Friends may call anytime after 12 noon, Sunday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the McCoy Family Cemetery, in Care Of Leon McCoy, 2010 Seymour Drive, Blacksburg, Va., 24060.
