McCoy, Everett Paul

Everett Paul McCoy, 81 of the Wolf Creek community near Narrows went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 3rd, 2007 at Riverview Nursing Home in Rich Creek.

He was born in Giles County on January 2nd, 1926 and was the son of the late Patrick Henry and Fannie Katherine (Kate) Burton McCoy. In addition to his mother and father, he was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years, Lorainia Virginia Stafford McCoy; three brothers, Jasper (Jack) McCoy, Homer McCoy and Webster McCoy; two sisters, Clarice Hare and Louisa Booth; and one step-granddaughter, Christie Vidal.

Everett was a simple man who was very pleasant and loved coon hunting. He’ll be deeply missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Barry Wayne and Sharon McCoy of Rocky Gap; two daughters and their husbands, Karen and Michael Taylor of Rocky Gap, and Deborah and Walter Collins of Peterstown; two step-daughters and their husbands, Dixie and Harvey Adams of Lerona, West Virginia, and Connie and Charles Burton of Narrows; a very special granddaughter he loved and adored very much, Karmen D. McCoy; another granddaughter, Julie Taylor; four step-grandchildren, Heather Wikle, Michael Burton, Gregory Burton and Chucky Burton; four great-grandchildren, Lorainia Wikle, Tiffany Hughes, Harley Hughes, Chloey Lafon; one great-great granddaughter, Kaitlynn Marie Burton; one sister, Mildred Donathan of Marion; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 6th, 2007 at 2 PM in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service in Narrows with Pastor Ralph Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Boyd Cemetery in the Wolf Creek community near Narrows. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Service Monday from 6 to 8 PM.
