McCoy, Carole Elaine

Carole Elaine McCoy, age 71, 0f Blacksburg died, Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Heritage Hall Health Care Center. She was born in Montgomery County, Va. on April 5, 1943 to the late Lorenzo George and Earcell Katherine Swaim McCoy. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jerry Wayne McCoy.

Carole attended Blacksburg High School and graduated in the class of 1961. She was employed by the Town of Blacksburg, Finance Dept. and retired after 41 years of service.

Carole was a devoted fan of the Virginia Tech sports. She is survived by her sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara M. and Mike Phillips, of Christiansburg, Julia M. “Judy” and Winston Banton, Rice, Va., brother, Thomas M. McCoy, of McCoy , Va.,She is also survived by one niece, Paula Raines, five nephews, Steve Albert, Barry Albert, Kevin Albert, Dean Raines, Benny McCoy, special friends, Donna Epperly, Judy Mattox, Martha Montgomery, Nancy Smith, Catherine Duncan, Jane Oliver, Dorothy Hull and family, Merve C. Timberlake, Jr.. She is also survived by many cousins.

Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, June 7, 2014 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McCoy officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice 1160 Moose Dr., Christiansburg, Va. 24073 or to your favorite charity. The family would like to thank the nurses at Heritage Hall for the wonderful care they took with Carole. Also many thanks to Good Samaritan Hospice for their support and care.

The family will receive friends from 10-11:00 am prior to the service at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
