McCoy, Beverley Wayne

Beverley Wayne McCoy, age 81, of Max Meadows, formerly of McCoy, VA, died Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Carrington Place in Rural Retreat. He was born in McCoy, VA on January 16, 1934 to the late Emmett Seymour and Mary Elizabeth Lucas McCoy.

He was also preceded in death by a son George Seymour McCoy; daughter, Ruth McCoy; granddaughter, Callie Dee McCoy Heddin; brother, William Seymour “Buddy” McCoy; sister, Libby McCoy Albert.

Wayne retired from Poly Scientific in 1996 with thirty years of service and was also a veteran of the US Air Force.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann McCoy of Max Meadows; daughter and son-in-law, Lynn M. and Rodney Patton of Max Meadows; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis M. and Gene Martin of McCoy, Hilda and Tracy Walker of Charlottesville; grandchildren, Courtney Verderber, Cameron and wife, Chandra Patton, Chaese Patton; six great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, December 31, 2015 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary McCoy and Rev. Shake Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the McCoy Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3959 Electric Road, Suite 357, Roanoke, VA 24018. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Wednesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
