McCoy, Betty Grasty

Betty Grasty McCoy passed away on May 7, 2015. Betty was born on September 30, 1921 in Tappahannock, Virginia. Her parents were John Ellis Grasty and Janey Robins Grasty. Betty was married to the late Fred Lansing McCoy for 68 years until his death in 2007.

She is survived by three children: her son, James and wife Jean McCoy of Baldwin, Georgia; her daughter Mary and husband Jerry McCoy of Norcross, Georgia; her daughter Ellen and husband Greg Baty of Orlando, Florida; her granddaughter Susan and husband Skip McCorkle and two great-granddaughters Katy and Amberly; her grandson Jon and wife Wendy Haga; her brother Robert Grasty of New Hampshire; and her sister-in-law Kathleen Williams of Newport, Virginia.

Betty was a kind and loving wife and mother and devoted her life to her husband and children.

A graveside service will be held at McCoy Cemetery in McCoy, Virginia, at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. Instead of flowers, it is requested that donations be made to the Oak View Christian Church, Spruce Run Road, Newport, Virginia 24128.
