McCoy, Barbara Jean

Barbara Jean McCoy, age 65, of Ripplemead died, Sunday, October 23, 2016, at Giles Community Hospital. She was born in Giles County, Va. on April 23, 1951.

She was preceded in death by her son, James Dowdy, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Billy Ray McCoy, daughters, April Dowdy, Susie Dalton, sons, James Dowdy, John Junior Bailey, Jacob Lewis Dowdy, sisters and brother-in-law, Anna and Ronnie Criner, Frances Collins, Linda Cook, Loretta Farley, brother, Winston Smith, Jr. seven grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, October 26, 2016 at 11:00 am in the McCoy Funeral home Chapel with the Rev. Richard Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in the Birchlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Tuesday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
