McClench, Margaret Markwood
Margaret Lynn Markwood McClench, 88, passed away on Friday, June 2, 2017, in her home in Blacksburg, Virginia.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wallace McClench II, her son William Wallace McClench III, three brothers, William Markwood, Thomas Markwood, and Robert Markwood, and her sister Elizabeth Spicer. Left to cherish her memory are her sisters Josephine Blue and Suzanne Yowell, her daughter Mary Keffer and husband Frank, granddaughter Anna McClure and husband Charlie, grandson Andrew Keffer and wife Ashton, two great grandsons, Hayden McClure and Beau Keffer.
Lynn was born in Richmond, Virginia on September 26, 1928. She graduated from Mary Washington College in 1949, and taught math in Fairfax County Schools for 30 years. In her retirement years she loved spending time with her grandchildren, and was active at the Blacksburg United Methodist Church. She enjoyed monthly book club meetings and volunteer work in the community. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother, and a faithful servant in her church and community.
The family would like to thank the excellent nurses, and caregivers at Warm Hearth at Home and Good Samaritan Hospice for their caring compassion and assistance.
There will be memorial service on Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Blacksburg United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Monday, June 5, from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home in Blacksburg, VA. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Blacksburg United Methodist Church, at P.O.
