McCambridge, Donald R. (Don)

Donald R. “Don” McCambridge, 73, of Hiwassee, went to be with the Lord Monday, March 26, 2012.

He was born in Hiwassee Nov 18, 1938 and was the son of the late Luther D. and Fannie Q. McCambridge. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy and Everett McCambridge. He was a longtime member of Max Creek Baptist Church and he retired from Volvo with 26 years of service.

Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Opal V. McCambridge of Hiwassee; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and Timmy Chinault of Pulaski; step-daughter and spouse, Donna Ferguson Potter and George of Pulaski; step-son, Tony Stammers of Hiwassee; granddaughters, Reagan McCambridge, Ashley McCambridge and Amanda Ferguson; great-granddaughters, Kassidy and Savannah McCambridge ; sisters and brothers-in-law, Irene and Dave Mabry of Hiwassee, Brenda and Buford Looney of Hiwassee and Kay and Billy Phillips of Dublin; brothers and sister-in-law, Ronald and Frances McCambridge of Collinsville and Marvin McCambridge of Hiwassee, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held today at 7 p.m. from Max Creek Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Coleman officiating. Visiting will be Wednesday from the church, where the family will receive friends from 5 p.m. until the service hour. A graveside service will be Thursday, at 11 a.m., from the McCambridge Family Cemetery, Hiwassee.
