Pauline Johnston (MaMaw) McCall, 98, of Hilton St. in Pembroke departed this life Saturday evening March 24, 2007 at her home in the loving care of her family and friends.

Born in Pembroke on January 6, 1909 she was a daughter of the late William McLain and Mary Ella Smith Johnston. She was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows, was a faithful member of Pembroke First United Methodist Church where she had been active in The United Methodist Women and had taught Sunday School.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ott McCall, an infant son, Ronald McCall, her parents to whom she was devoted, four brothers, William Shuler, Alfred Curtis, Robert Fulton, and Edward Preston Johnston, five sisters, Margaret Lucille Caldwell, Cella Mae Price, Lyda Bell Coffman, Reba Sue Shields, Elizabeth Gertrude Johnston.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Lois and W.E. “Bill” Williams, of Pembroke; four grandchildren, Sherry Williams Fox (Howard) of Richmond, Pamela K. Mundy (Bane) of Radford, W. E. “Billy” Williams, II (Beverly) of Pembroke, Edward Allen Williams of Pembroke; twelve great-grandchildren, Scott and Christian Fox, Jesslyn and Jacob Mundy, Evan and Taylor Williams, Joshua, Justin and Chelsey Williams, Mike, Heather and Marla Mundy; two great -great-grandchildren Morgan and Logan Mundy; and a special “neighbor-grandson” Roger Bandy; a host of beloved nieces, nephews, friends, and two special sisters-in-law, Josephine Johnston of Pembroke and Stella Johnston of Raleigh, N.C.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11 a.m. in Pembroke First United Methodist Church with Pastor Bill Greer and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at The Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Monday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to Pembroke First United Methodist Church , Pembroke, Va., 24136.
