McCall, Lucille Meredith

Lucille Meredith McCall, 78, of Pembroke, died Monday evening, January 29, 2007 in Montgomery Regional Hospital in Blacksburg after a long illness.

Born in Pembroke on April 5, 1928 she was a daughter of the late Ward N. and Gertrude Jones Meredith. Lucille was a graduate of Pembroke High School and was retired from Celanese Celco Plant PA Lab.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Billy G. McCall; three brothers, Garnet, Jack and “Shank” Meredith; and two sisters, Nannie Mae Runions and Mary Lee St.Clair.

She leaves to cherish her memory two sons and a daughter-in-law, Bryce and Connie Huffman McCall of Pembroke and Ronald McCall of Christiansburg; a granddaughter and her husband, Holly and Daron Williams of Christiansburg; four sisters, Frances (Larry) Blevins, Lola M. Falls, Shirley (Benny) Eads and Phyllis “Snookie” (Jerry) Williams, all of Pembroke; three brothers, Douglas (Helen) Meredith of Salem, Gene (Lahoma) Meredith and Kenny (Dottie) Meredith, both of Pembroke; brothers-in-law, Robert (Geraldine) McCall and Jack (Mary Glen) McCall, both of Pembroke.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11 a.m. in Pembroke First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions may be made to Eagles Nest Regeneration in care of Dwelling Place Christian Fellowship at 3325 N.
