mcbride samuel williamSamuel William McBride, 72, passed away Friday, October 25, 2013 at his home in Radford surrounded by his family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Samuel, Dorthy and Mary McBride. He was a U. S. Air Force veteran and was a McDonald’s franchise owner who helped establish the Ronald McDonald House in Charleston. His civic memberships included Civitans, Christian Business Men’s Committee and Rotary. Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years, Bernadette Wahl McBride; daughters and sons-in-law, Kristine and Rob Graham, Jr. of Radford, Beth Ann and Roger Freisleben of Roanoke, and Kimberly and Brian Dalimonte of Charlottesville; grandchildren, Logan, Sophie and Madison Graham, Owen and Ryan Freisleben, and Sam and Leo Dalimonte; his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and John Griffiths of Colorado; and niece and nephew, Tom Murray and his wife Tracey, and Tiffany Murray and their families. Memorial services will be held Friday, November 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at the New Dublin Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andrew Taylor-Troutman officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm at the Southwest Virginia Veterans Cemetery in Dublin with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Carilion Hospice and the Salem VA Medical Center and the family requests that cards or letters be sent to Mrs. McBride, c/o Kristine Graham, 417 Vista Ridge, Radford, VA 24141 and please include a favorite thought or memory of Samuel.
