Mayhew, Opal Hamlin

Opal Hamlin Mayhew, born February 20, 1920, age 88, died Friday, August 15, 2008 in a Roanoke hospital. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mark and Mary Hamlin and her sons, Dallas Branham and Paul W. Branham.

Surviving are two sons, Rodney G. Lytton, Roanoke and Joel C. Lytton and wife, Wanda, also of Roanoke; two granddaughters, Amanda K. Smith and husband, Aaron, Clemmons, N.C. and Vanessa L. Skidmore and husband, Jason, Olympia, Wash. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

The family wants to thank Opal’s numerous friends and neighbors for their help, kindness and prayers.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, August 19, 2008 at the DeVilbiss Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Gary Stike officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends Monday, August 18, 2008 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the DeVilbiss Funeral Home, Radford.
