Maxey, Wayne Winston

Wayne Winston Maxey, 69, passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on November 15 2020. He was born in Montgomery County, Virginia on July 25 1951. Wayne enjoyed black lab dogs and outside activities.

Wayne was preceded in death by his parents, Francis and Jinx Maxey. He is survived by uncles and aunts, Andrew Dunn & their children, Shorty and Nannie Minnick and their children, and Ruby Starkey and her children; his brother, Mike Maxey of Elliston; nephew, Chris Maxey (Nikki) of Reesedale, VA. He is also survived by his four children, Scotty Maxey of Florence SC, Michele Maxey, Suzanne Wilsey (Josh) and Andrew Maxey of Sumter SC.; seven grandchildren, Shawn, Maranda, Jonathan, Kaylee, Mackenzie, Owen and Cassandra all from Sumter SC; as well as many cousins, family and close friends.

Cremation will be performed by Horne Funeral Home of Christiansburg. Services will be held at Midway Baptist Church, 3909 Northfork Road Elliston Va 24087 on Thursday November 19, 2020 at 11 a.m.
