Maupin, Violet Lucille Staley

Violet Lucille Staley Maupin, 83, of Fairlawn, passed away Thursday, April 21, 2011 at Cozy Home Haven. She was born in Radford on April 23, 1927, the daughter of the late Thomas Preston and Molly McDaniel Staley and grew up in Radford. She was a member of Fairlawn Presbyterian Church. She was preceded in death in January by her husband of 61 years, Lester Lee Maupin. She is survived by four children, Christie Maupin Streelman and her husband, David, of Lansdale, Pa., Robert Preston Maupin and his wife, Kim, of Blue Ridge, Ricky Lee Maupin and his wife, Elizabeth, of Christiansburg and Cindy Maupin Wright and her husband, Greg, of Dublin; ten grandchildren, Jennifer Bell and her husband, Timothy, Daniel Streelman, Carrie, Sara and Christopher Maupin, Blair, Corey and Lori Maupin, and Nicole and Heather Wright; two great-grandchildren, Madeline Maupin and Marshall Fuller; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 25, 2011 at 7 p.m. at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford, with Pastor Bill Himes officiating. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 5:30 p.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
