He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Daniel and Mammie Spradlin Mauk; and two sisters, Nancy Gray and Mae Craft. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Shirley Mauk; two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Stephanie Mauk, Tommy and Lisa Mauk; three grandchildren, Jonathan, Samantha, and Ashley; siblings and spouse, Betty and Sonny Hauser, Jimmy Mauk; numerous nieces and nephews; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Flossie Moran, Gordon and Annie Nichols, Tressie Sigmon, and Burton Nichols. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. on Friday, February 18, 2011, at Copper Hill Church of the Brethren with Pastor Marty Moyer and Pastor Maurice Wright officiating. Interment will follow at Restvale Cemetery. Friends may call after 3 p.m. on Thursday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 6 until 8 p.m. Condolences to the family may be made at www.gardnerfuneralhomefloyd.com. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society , 9 East Church Avenue, Roanoke, Va. 24011. The family expresses their thanks to the Infusion Lab and the nurses on 6 West at Lewis-Gale Cancer Center. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
