Matusevich, George

George Matusevich, 76, of Blacksburg passed away, Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Montgomery Regional Hospital. He was born in Montgomery Co., Va., on July 17, 1931 to the late Tony, Sr. and Tessie Proco Matusevich. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Johnny L. Matusevich and Tony Matusevich, Jr.

He was a graduate of Blacksburg High School, class of 1950 and spent twelve years in the U.S. Air Force. He was also retired from Corning Glass works.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte T. Matusevich of Blacksburg; stepdaughter, Teresa McCoy of Wilmington, N.C.; stepgrandson, Jeremy Jones of Blacksburg; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Dorothy M. and Glenard Quesenberry, Mary Jean and John Brown and Velma M. Pierce, all of Blacksburg; sister-in-law, Connie Matusevich of Blacksburg; brother and sister-in-law, Edward and Peggy Matusevich of Blacksburg and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Glenard Quesenberry and the Rev. Jerry Sloss officiating. Interment will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, SW, Blacksburg.
